The “SMART Health Verifier” app, built by the nonprofit Commons Project, launched earlier this month and is publicly available for download.
The app only displays a green verification box and the person’s name, birthdate, and vaccination locations. It will not reveal contact information such as your address or phone number or any other health information, developers said.
As the highly contagious Delta variant spreads exponentially, more restaurants, stores, and events across California are requiring proof of vaccination.
