Because they are working. If you are not justly compensated for what you produce, that is called slavery. Not everyone in prison has connections to their family or loved ones, or positive relations with them

yes, I'm all for paying them the minimum wage. Coincidentally, their room, board, meals, security and recreation fees comes in at about 115% of their wages. So send the family a bill for the remainder. If no family is willing to pay up for the scum, then they gonna be wiped from society
