Similairily, if a baseball pitcher throws a pitch at 0.9c (90% the speed of light), in addition to destroying everything within roughly 1.6 km of the mound, because the air molecules slam into the baseball so hard they fuse (fusion) which causes a masive explosion. In this situation, acording to the MLB rules, the batter is concidered "hit by pitch" and may advance to first base.

TL;DR the baseball thrown at 90% the speed of light effectivly becomes a nuclear explosion (probably with much less fallout) destroying the baseball daimond, and the city around it. Including the pitcher and batter, and literally everyone there.
