Yeah, they killed that song for me...there's a line "Fire all of your guns at once" which they changed to something lame. Can't remember for sure, but it sucks.

They omitted that part, making the dreamy eyed gal saying, "explode in your face" sound almost pornographic, lol

True, true. It's actually "explode into space", but that still even sounds almost pornographic.

I'm sure that if that song had been originally published now rather than 1968 they'd have made it even more raw, but the original (not ruined by California) still holds up quite well.

It has really. Not a bad song at all.
