Bush wasn't much better

I would like to think Reagan at least had enough personal integrity and decency to recognize the long-term failures of his policies, had he lived to see them.

He did apologize for Iran-Contra, after all.

Reaganism may have paved the way for Trumpism, but Reagan himself was not a flagrant reality-distortion field. He was a basically decent through misguided guy, like George W. Bush.

I think he was a good President overall, but definitely not as amazing or awful as some think.
