Yeah, you're right. Although my city is the 3rd most likely to be attacked by a nuclear weapon, so I am paranoid. I always have a nuclear fallout aid kit to help me survive as long as until help arrives.
We made it through the crazy 80s when single individuals like Stanislav Petrov were sometimes the only last defense against a holocaust of 100s of millions. I've stood in places with both American and Soviet nukes pointed at me. I can tell the tale today.
It's serious stuff, but it's been worse. We're making slow progress.
Wow... I really didn't think about what happened nearly half a century ago, but this has me thinking, how did we get through a century full of war and conflict?
I just realized my cousin's birthday was on the same day as the bombing of Hiroshima... ...and my birthday was on the same day as the bombing of Nagasaki... ...I have a bad feeling about our future.
