Getting a vaccine is only guaranteed to protect yourself. Everyone who wants one should get one.

Yes, and by extension, if you are highly resistant to the disease, you in turn protect the people around you who are unable to get the vaccine.

A true patriot, in the way that conservatives mean, should be clamoring to get the vaccine first, in order to protect the people of the country they claim to love so much.

Because if they're willing to fight for the country and the lives of others, and thus risk death, they should be willing to get a vaccine so others don't die.

You can still transmit the virus even if you've gotten vaccine the vaccine, dude. It doesn't have to infect you to spread via touch and inhalation. The only way to prevent that sort of transmission is properly washing your hands and covering your mouth when you cough/sneeze (or wear a mask).

It's not about patriotism...it's about science.

you keep reinforcing my point, IG. The people who constantly insist they're the true patriots who love this country...are the ones who won't wear a mask, won't socially distance, and won't get the vaccine.

How can you be a patriot if you're not willing to stop the spread of a disease?

Frankly I don't see why it's about patriotism. If you don't want the vaccine, that's OK, but be especially mindful of your body by washing your hands, covering your mouth and nose with your elbow when you cough or sneeze...stuff that people *should do anyways but don't*, and you cut down almost entirely on the methods of transmission that circumvent vaccination in the first place.

Can't do that? Well I can't stop you from being an a**hole, but I'll definitely consider you as such.

If we have to make it about patriotism, then I think the patriotic thing to do is YOUR part. That may not be the same for everybody, but I agree it can't be nothing.

For the record, I've been a, "Wash your hands/cover your mouth/don't touch your face with your hands!" type of guy for my whole life. I firmly believe every respiratory disease we deal with, be it cold, flu, or COVID, wouldn't be nearly the problems they are today if everyone actually did that.

Yes, patriotism is "do your part" and the self-proclaimed super-patriot crowd is refusing to do their part!

Thus, they are not patriots.

Oh, you're one of those.
1) You mean patent WO2020060606A1. You can read it here: https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2020060606A1/en?oq=WO2020060606+ (not that you will). But you'll note 0 mentions of microchips. It's for wearables using body activity to power cryptocurrency mining.

2) cancer and diabetes aren't viruses. Not even in the same ball park.
