I don't know what he said regarding covid, there is so many inconsistencies I lose track. But if it counts you don't have to wear the mask if you have been vaccinated. You can also go to concerts and other things without much trouble if you have been vaccinated.
Fauci also said the vaccine will not be mandatory. However he neglected to mention the not so subtle denial of one's right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness for refusing a vaccine that was made really fast, has killed people, and is surrounded by politics.

The chances of dying from the vax are far lower the chances of dying from COVID regardless of age or health.

Maybe, however it is without a doubt the government has lied and been inconsistent many times regarding covid. And people has died from the vaccine and are still getting covid despite being fully vaccinated. The media's denial of this is most disturbing. It really fuels the distrust when one hears many personal cases of such instances yet the media denies such.
And is it moot to point out that last year when Trump was still in office a great many people questioned the effectiveness and safety of the vaccine? Biden coming into office didn't change the rushed up vaccine.

Of course you can still get COVID with the vax, you just recover like a head cold, not go to a hospital and possibly die.
