I’m a straight ally myself, and a mod here.

Hopefully there isn’t too much stigmatizing of “straight” people here. Hating anyone for their sexual orientation even if it’s straight is wrong. If you see something, flag it.

Most negative commentary I see here is against “homophobes,” however, which I think is totally fair.

straight people are occasionally made fun of, but gay people have been assaulted or worse for decades
usually the only straight people that get made fun of are homophobic, transphobic, or both, so they deserve that

I get made fun of every day i also get death threats from gay people just for being straight

You shouldn’t make fun of ANYONE and I’m sorry if that happening to you. Even if you are homophobic (not saying that you are you don’t seem it) it’s still not ok to make fun of people. All negative thoughts should be kept to yourself.

Hey, thanks for your question! The reason behind that is because for years straight people have oppressed and tried to erase representation of queer people, and when we make fun of them, we're usually making fun of the homophobic and/or transphobic straights. Or when straight people give someone like stitch from lilo and stitch a girlfriend just to make sure it's very straight. Stitch didn't need a girlfriend, it didn't affect the plot at all, and we don't make of that simply because they made stitch heterosexual, but because they felt they needed to prove him straight in a society where the norm is "assume straight until proven otherwise." Also the fact that they made a law that allows us to be legally killed
