The reason behind that is because for years straight people have oppressed and tried to erase representation of queer people, and when we make fun of them, we're usually making fun of the homophobic and/or transphobic straights. Or when straight people give someone like stitch from lilo and stitch a girlfriend just to make sure it's very straight. Stitch didn't need a girlfriend, it didn't affect the plot at all, and we don't make of that simply because they made stitch heterosexual, but because they felt they needed to prove him straight in a society where the norm is "assume straight until proven otherwise." Also the fact that they made a law that allows us to be legally killed
