Enlighten me: Did trump try to remove his citizen’s guns? Did he persecute religion with the end goal of removing it entirely? Did he take government control of media? Was he a massive antisemite?

Yes it does matter. If he’s just referring to basic domestic policy of Hitler like trying to boost the economy (since they were in the middle of the great depression in the 30’s) then it’s certainly suspicious but not incriminating. I always hated that Trump was all hugs and kisses with Putin too. That’s actually of few things I like about Biden, he’s tough on Russia. Another thing: Two of the most common things dictators do is disarm their citizens and ban religion, since an armed populous can fight back against tyranny and faith challenges the power of the state. Those are 2 things Trump would never do, as his largest base of support is gun toting evangelicals. Besides, if you really thought he could seize control at any moment why weren’t you and your friends arming yourselves fast as possible?

If the federal government doesn’t take control then the gop states will just hand the elections to their candidates. It’s not about ID. Read the bills that are being pushed out there. They’re changing the rules because they haven’t won the popular vote in years. Their base is shrinking and they want to restrict which votes will count.

Think back to an angry dictator in Germany, an angry dictator in Italy, and an angry dictator in Soviet Russia and let me know how well it goes when the government takes control of elections.
