It used to be that way years ago before I joined the site. You were able to see how many downvotes you had on your images as well as comments. It was removed, I believe, because users were getting less motivated to use the site once they saw how many downvotes they were getting, plus a lot of people took the opportunity to downvote troll. Once the downvote counter was removed, Imgflip started retaining more users and the site really began to start growing.
