Hah. We could disagree about the process that elected an “outspoken conservative,” and in particular the voting restrictions that depressed turnout — and which were explicitly justified on several occasions as being against out-of-stream voters more inclined to vote for liberal candidates — I know RMK has voiced those concerns.
I’m not very eager to go through all the trouble of running another campaign here, either for myself or someone else, especially with the doubled burden of getting everyone who might vote “registered” to vote. But it’s of no consequence. Being here on this stream is exhausting anyway. Leaving has freed me to pursue my other avenues of creativity on Imgflip.
And after all, I need no title. I am just a humble citizen of Imgflip, expressing my views here on an open forum, same as anyone.
At its best, democracy is not something we do every 2 to 4 years for 5 minutes in a voting booth, then shut off our brains and leave for those we elected to handle. At its best, democracy requires the continual and active engagement of all citizens: thinking, probing, questioning.
Best of luck to the government.
