A Democratic president is fooling the country again.

A Democratic president is fooling the country again. | Hooray! Troops are being
withdrawn from Afghanistan!
Oh, wait a minute... Official soldiers are leaving,
but mercenaries--who already outnumber the troops--are staying. Members of the military are supposed to follow rules (the Geneva Convention, e.g.) yet company-based fighters often ignore such niceties. | image tagged in us base in afghanistan,us military, deception, human rights | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

Still gonna use drones, CIA death squads and private soldiers (Dyncorp, Black Water, etc). Still have tons of soldiers situated near by. It's largely cosmetic, sadly.

The United States has been using drones for surveilling protests in the United States for four or five years now, actually. They also use them to surveil the border. I'm betting that eventually they will graduate to blowing people up with them within the borders of the continental United States. This is a grim prospect but sadly not totally impossible
