People who knew him say he dearly loved & was devoted to his wife--while on set he absolutely refused to kiss other women. McGoohan made the excuse that it was inappropriate. Yet due to a scheduling conflict there was an episode in The Prisoner where #6 was bodyswapped; the writers made sure to have the other actor do a romantic scene then. McGoohan was the producer but he allowed the episode in the series, so it looks like he just didn't want to get too close to another women himself. I could be wrong, but he sure seems like he was only attracted to one woman.
