As bad as Oregon is, double that and then some is what Canada's lost.

And as far as Hitler doing any good goes, well, oof...German economic recovery was technically a thing because the state just assumed debts and then basically said, 'eff you' to creditors...it's tough for people to threaten you with debt collection or ruin your currency if you'll probably kill them in return.
I know more about WWII and the surrounding decades than most and there genuinely isn't much good you can say about him specifically. In a generalistic sense he was a great orator, but that's not particularly special. His early painting work is actually pretty interesting, and you can tell he'd have been a great architect, but that obviously never happened...really the only good thing I can think of was his desire for every German to have a car (hence the evolution of the Volkswagen (People's car)), but that is nothing, really, when we're talking about a man so evil he'd be one of the few I'd confidently say was truly beyond redemption.

That's actually a good question. I want to say yes, but you'd probably want to double check that.

“and you can tell he'd have been a great architect”

As a surveyor, this statement made me laugh out loud for all the right reasons.

Why not? His paintings were devoid of life and spatial consistency, but they did tend emphasize structures and we all know his obsession (shared with Albert Speer) with the minutia of 'New Berlin' to be built after the war.

Unless you can prove he was somehow incapable of learning math and related subjects I fail to see why my statement was a stretch (beyond the fact the entire subject of discussion is essentially a waste of time...)

It wasn’t an attack on your position.

As a surveyor, via my personal interactions with architects, it made me laugh that Hitler wanted to be an architect.

Oohh, my bad.

It is funny, but it's also a shame he wound up going the way he did...Adolf Hitler, unremarkable 20th century architect, sounds entirely alien.
