Full disclosure... I haven't seen WandaVision. However, I have been into comics since I was a child. You're absolutely correct... Scarlet Witch (Wanda) is super broken. But then, most of the super heroes who use magic are... against anyone without magic or resistances of their own.
If the haven't seen WandaVision AND they have no clue about comics in general, yeah... people don't get it.
