Hide it in the backyard! An investigation of the basement could lead to discovery. However, if you bury it in the backyard, it's easy to hide it. Bury it near the house or perimeter of the property, and plant a tree on top. Then, the body will be hard to find under the tree. Bonus points: use an endangered tree and surround it with endangered plants so it will be illegal to remove them. Then, the body will decompose and help the plants grow, which will further help to hide the evidence!
