Bishops

Actually they technically die penniless, since the era of wealthy, private propery owning bishops, ended at least a century ago. The pension is just so that they can be available to the Church for further service at need until their last breath of air . . . and the same applies to those men whom never rise past the level of simple priest.

Not true I seem to remember Cardinal O'Connor of NYC being wworth. approximately half a million dollars when he died in the early 1990's. Not exactly super wealthy but not broke either. Some orders of the priesthood do take a vow of poverty but must don't.
