only certain viruses contract across species and then irs dangerous. covid is a bat virus contracting to people. therefore cats and dogs wont contract it and if they do they have a much stronger immune system than us and won't be affected in the slightest or affect us

actually that is proven as why diseases are dangerous. the black plague is meant not to kill its host, but it accidentally spread to a person and was extremely dangerous. diseases dont want tokill their host because then they die eventually as well, however when a different species is infected it has different immune responses so it reacts differently and dies. its agreed upon
