If they said they still love you then I think it's natural something as intimate as sexuality l, and the resultant differences between you folks now, would be present.

I always liken it to Republicans and Democrats. They don't agree, and they can't say they're OK with what the others believe because both sides genuinely disagree on many things, but they both believe the other side has a right to hold those beliefs. It's a subtle but important distinction.
