I think most conservatives today are the type of people who think modern music sucks and pine for the classic rock of the 50's-80's.

Seems that way online, at least.

Go back and look at what conservatives of those days said about rock and roll. Nor am I calling out republicans. Look up when Frank Zappa testified before congress. The pearl clutching think of the children bullshit is still the same as it was when comic books were blamed. Or video games today (violent cartoons when I was growing up)

And it’s always couched as protecting children from themselves. My youngest loved rap for awhile. I personally don’t care for it, but I would never tell him not to listen to it. And today he goes to country concerts. Again not my cup of tea, but not my place to say no even as a parent. (Volume levels on the other hand...)

May shock you then I’m kind of in line with them other than country and rock music most music today for me sucks, while music from the 60’s to 90’s and parts of the 2000’s are far superior

Personally I don't care. Everybody's taste is different. I still love Disney despite being well beyond the age group it targets. I'm not a huge music buff, but will usually go song-by-song when determining what I like. Rock and pop are easily my favorite genres though.

It’s not about the quality of the music. My kid put his music on my computer between apartments once and it loaded all of it on my iPod. I can’t stand Lil Wayne, Biggie and the like and spent hours deleting it. But I missed one. I was listening at work and a song came on that is completely not my preferred genre. But as I listened, I recognized the brilliance of the song writer and the structure. I looked it up and it was Tupac. Again I didn’t like the song, but I knew talent when I heard it.

No this is about control. Comic books, video games, movies, music. All of it has been blamed by those that want to control us.

I read the comic books, I played the violent video games, watched the violent movies and listened to the evil music. Funny, I raised two kids ( one who is raising two kids) and have a successful career. Why wasn’t I affected? It certainly wasn’t because I spent time church.

I could go on, but maybe a different meme would be my starting point for it.
