I deliberately avoided using the terms “Republican” or “conservative” this time, because of the issue of generalization.’many do, but some don’t.

To me, “right-wing” denotes a position even further to the right which excludes moderate Republicans and conservatives.

Do you have a better suggestion? “Right-wing radicals” for instance? Unfortunately I don’t see many conservative memes making attempts to distinguish moderate Democrats from ANTIFA, communists, anarchists, etc. — in fact, quite the opposite. They try their best to tie Democrats to much more radical movements.

In this case however, the Jan. 6 riot and the lies that led to them were stoked by the then-sitting President and leader of the Republican Party. No way around that.

Some amount of generalization is unavoidable when making a simple meme, I feel. My memes will always make someone unhappy. But it can be reduced to a minimum. Deliberate distortions and caricatures can be avoided.

If the meme isn’t about you, then it isn’t aimed at you.

As Cerebreophage pointed out, if you apply more specific terminology you fall to accusations of, "the left can't meme".
