That's kinda offensive. My gender identity is Female, but you saying otherwise invalidates that. What you're saying is that I'm male.

You misunderstand the difference between sex and gender. Sex is your genitalia. Gender is what you identify as and is whatever you want it to be. Male and female are terms used to describe sex, not gender. That being said, nowadays, people use male and female as terms for gender as well, so it's really not THAT big of a deal. It's just the easiest way of asking what you have as genitalia when you go to the doctor without giving that a gender.

You can say my sex is male biologically, but I find that hurtful. Others might not, but I hate people thinking of me as male, sex or gender.

But the phrase “male” is completely separate from gender. Gender is a social construct. The terms “male” and “female” are only connected to gender because people thought they were. Either our society becomes a Hell of a lot more comfortable with sex as a whole and just asks whether you have a p**is or va**na on medical stuff so we don’t have to trip over this gendered clusterf**k or we just keep using these terms, accepting that they’re fully separate from gender. I’d be fine with either, though the latter seems a lot more likely.

Don’t get me wrong through, you aren’t any less of a woman just because you were assigned male at birth.
