OSCEola District, Florida (WKMG). The murder suspect is accused of beating a man so severely with a vacuum cleaner that he chopped off his head, leaving him beaten beyond recognition, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s records.
MPs said they were summoned to Donegan Avenue in Kissimmee on March 14 after a man was found dead near a trash can at Cheo Auto Repair.
The victim’s blood, brain and bone fragments were reportedly sprayed into the area and nearby vehicles.
“As soon as I saw (the victim), I was immediately stunned by the amount of violence that led to (his) killing,” the detective wrote in his sworn statement of arrest.
The MPs said that the Dirt Devil vacuum cleaner and the wooden board, judging by the evidence on the spot, were the murder weapons.
“Apparently, the vacuum was driven into (the victim) so hard that the vacuum broke into many pieces and spread throughout the territory,” the detective wrote.
The report said that surveillance video from a nearby facility showed the victim near a dumpster at around 3:15 a.m. when a man, later identified as 44-year-old Angel Luis Olmed Rivera, approached and began attacking the victim.
The MPs said Olmed Rivera used a vacuum cleaner, a wooden plank, fists and legs to attack the victim. Authorities said Olmed Rivera stopped the attack a few minutes later, only to get out of camera view and return a few minutes later to continue the beating.
“The suspect appears to have committed five separate and equally violent attacks on the victim,” the detective wrote.
This surveillance video helped identify Olmeda Rivera as a crime suspect.
The MPs said that during an interview with Olmeda Rivera on March 17, he told them that he had mental health problems and could not remember his whereabouts for the previous several days. The report said he was unable to explain how he received cuts and injuries to his hands and arms.
According to his affidavit, Olmed Rivera did not act surprised or repentant, and did not ask any questions when MPs told him that he had hurt someone.
The MPs then stated that they told Olmed Rivera that he had killed someone.
“The angel looked at me, smiled and laughed. He did not appear shocked, remorseful, or worried about any of this information; instead he seemed amused, “wrote the detective.
