Fauci backhandedly funded such research by giving money to Eco-Health Alliance, which in turn gave money to Wuhan Institute of virology to do gain of function research. Fauci has said doing gain of function research is worth the risk of a pandemic.

oh i got both of the basic stimulus checks but they weren't free. that money ultimately comes out of tax dollars.

That money ultimately comes from borrowed money from nations such as China. Tax money doesn't even cover items in the annual budget set by Congress. And a great number of the people who received those checks do not pay income taxes, either because they earn below the taxable level or they are rich and have good tax attorneys.
