Why can't they just admit it's stupid?

The bible was translated many times before reaching English, so certain messages got messed up. Just put something through a few layers of Google translate and you'll see what i mean. Also, the Catholic church added and took out stuff to fit their agenda. I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (sometimes called the Mormon church), and that is something we acknowledge. We do believe one book of scripture to be translated correctly, which is called the book of mormon. It is a record of a few different groups of people who came to the Americas across time. Anything Christ says in here we accept by gospel, and you do not find the stuff in the bible that other christian denominations just dismiss.

We have our beliefs compiled into a list, called the articles of faith. One of them is, "We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly. We also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God." That sums up what i said before
