Since you haven't read it, here's a spoiler - it doesn't appear anywhere.

The founders considered democracy "vile", and for good reason. Historically, democracies die when the people realize that they can vote themselves money (benefits, stimulus, and the like)

These are elected offices. That's in the Constitution. They're not an appointed nobility, they're people we can fire on a vote. It's a democracy.

Republic just means there's no king. That's ALL it means. The rest of the Constitution implements a democracy.
