He came un-wound. We used to re-wind them wit a pencil.

i am a 14 year old but i get it! back then you use pencils to re wrap a tape up! actually when i was young my dad gave me all sorts of taps to listen too and i always used to do that! i feel most kids didnt get that experience LOL
