Haha, I'm not angry at the community lol. I'm just saying I realize that's happening more often nowadays.

that's because most of imgflip is middle aged moms, boomers, 9 year olds that play fortnite/roblox, and middle/high schoolers whose school computers blocked reddit. and the majority of the first two usually stay in EAM or politics

Stick to your high effort custom memes. When I joined imgflip I couldn't get any clicks or upvotes on my stuff cause I used mostly custom made templates. People wanted the classic memes.
But people came around and I get plenty of clicks on my custom stuff, now. Plus I can laugh at anyone who cries 'repost' in the comments cause I make my own signature templates.

Like these. I worked on a meme for an hour trying to think of one, and I thought of one, and it barely got noticed. It didn't get ay upvotes at all, but there are memes like these which require way less effort, and they end up getting upvotes and they get front-paged.

Users are somewhat getting points easier now, especially NEW USERS who say "This is my first meme", and they end up going to the first page. It's a breeze now. It's easy in small streams, I get it, but when people are posting low-effort memes in the "Fun" stream, or "MEMES_OVERLOAD" stream and get popular, I feel like it isn't fair.

How can we stop this? It just isn't fair for users like me who feel like we can't get on the front page, and we see new users get on there first try.

There's a very easy solution though: Don't spend an hour on a meme if it bothers you when all that work doesn't get noticed. If points and upvotes is all you care about you don't need to spend an hour on a good idea. Just post a picture of a potato with the caption "let's see how many upvotes this potato gets" or something equally stupid. Imgflip isn't "fair" and it never claimed to be. If you want someone to appreciate the effort you put into your memes, don't post them into the swamp that is the fun stream. Either post them in a stream with like-minded people, or a thematically relevant stream, or just share them with your friends. Effort is not going to get you popularity or points - never has, never will. It's the sheer numbers that count - posting a lot, voting and commenting on other people's memes,... it doesn't necessarily have anything to do with actually making good memes.
