I can’t speak for the demented crap in the Old Testament, most of which isn’t followed even by the most archconservative Christians today (marry your dead brother’s widow? No thanks!) —
But the teachings of Jesus Himself (the Alpha and Omega of what Christianity should be about, IMO) are radically anti-sexist, compassionate, and egalitarian.
This teaching in particular.
Women can be teachers, healers, preachers, soldiers — anything a man can be.
They can dazzle us with their beauty or their wisdom. Or both. Their history, sexual or otherwise, does not define who they are or what they can be.
They are made in God’s image too.
