No, they think he should have a 3rd, 4th, snd 5th term. They believe trump should supercede the Constitution.

Though U.S Grant is one of my favorite Presidents, he did try to run for a third term.

Fortunately he lost.

If he's one of your favorite candidates then why are you happy he lost? I know it's pretty obvious and I'm just being dumb though.

It's the two-term tradition that Washington set down. He follows only behind Washington in terms of being my favorite President, but that doesn't mean I'd want him to have held office for twenty years (Looking at you, king FDR).

If Lindbergh won that would be bad since he was a pro-nazi and pro "America First"

No issue with America putting American interests first, but definitely not a fan of the Nazi's. Good point raised...

Quick summary of what could have happened:
Germany: We will take over the world.
US: Meh. We don't care.
Germany: *Takes over the rest of the free world.*
US: Meh. We don't care.
Germany: *Invades US and wins*

Germany could never have invaded the U.S and won, dude...Do you realize the logistical nightmare? They'd have to first and foremost subdue the U.S.S.R, which would have been nigh-impossible (though possible)...then they'd have to vanquish the British Empire. Britain may have fallen, but her Empire was prepared to fight on forever. Then they'd have to take on Africa, which probably wouldn't have been too difficult, but still a serious challenge. Then, while ruling all these new territories and somehow keeping them all secure in the face of GUARANTEED insurrections on a monumental scale, they'd have to scrape together a navy and enough manpower to take on two of the most populous, resource-rich, and easily defended continents on the planet. The United States populace would absolutely be on the warpath long before this ever happened, and Congress would have declared war whether Lindbergh liked it or not.

This notion that Germany could ever have taken over the world is fantasy.

I don't think you understand how popular Lindbergh and his "America First" was.

I've studied this area of history intensely and know more about it than most. America First was only popular because isolationist sentiment still ran high. The U.S populace was outraged by the attack on Pearl Harbor and that dissolved most of said sentiment. At that point Lindbergh was useless; the United States had been attacked by a foreign power in such a way that Americans felt was extraordinarily dirty and the flames of war were fanned as a result. Germany then declared war on the U.S, which put any hope Lindbergh had of somehow peacefully disengaging from the issue six feet under.

The only times during which the U.S was more united against a common enemy were the War for Independence and 9/11.

Maybe. Germany could have told Japan,”Don’t attack them.” Ultimately history is so complicated we probably will never no for sure.

Maybe...I don't think Japan really would have listened; their own internal politics were so heated by the militarist hawks in the Army that confrontation with the U.S was almost inevitable.
But yes, we'll never know for sure. As much fun as hypothetical history is, it's just that; hypothetical.

We have reason to believe that had he not run for two extra terms Lindbergh might have won.
