I would accept this: "I've seen reports from X outlet and it's been generally bad. I don't wish to waste my time any further so I cannot comment on the merits of the report you cite."

To honestly debate you must engage the content in question.

Now you understand how frustrating it is to have some leftie dismiss an article purely because it was from FOX news or another traditionally-right outlet, despite them not actually sticking to the article itself and weighing the article on its own merits.

This has been good for the both of us, I think.

The difference being, FOX is typically loaded with sensationalism and heavily skews the facts. Fox business is okay sometimes. For the k list party people cite me fox and friends.

That's when I can't take them seriously.

Everyone should take the "news" apprehensively. Most of the time, they aren't actually news, but legally labeled as entertainment, as such they're allowed to lie to you.

To avoid to much legwork, I suggest rueters or associated press. Both are reputable s centrist and highly factual.

But yeah, good talk

For me, I only read articles that are primary source, which is rarely ever the news, or articles that have have external links to support their claims. If ask you can link for your stuff is right wing media, that strains your credibility.

I avoid citing left wing media unless I can find centrist articles about the same topic

Ha!! You are literally doing the same thing that you were just crying about when someone else did it to you!

Don't be a hypocrite. Either treat EVERY article from EVERY outlet on nothing but its own merit, or accept that everyone has biases against outlets. You cannot cry wolf when someone else does it but then turn around and do the same to you.

In the photo you provided, you were irked that the other fellow refused to watch the video by NBC news because of a preexisting bias they had towards that outlet. Fair, I agree that such a view is stupid.

But you then told me that you can't take FOX seriously because their articles are typically loaded with sensationalism and heavily skew facts. Therefore I think we can all safely assume that you by and large dismiss FOX news as a source, since you explicitly provided FOX business as your only possible exception to that rule of thumb.

This is virtually the same attitude with which the other fellow approached you regarding NBC. Therefore I'm calling out your hypocrisy, not for being biased towards an outlet (we're opinionated creatures, after all), but for getting on his case and then turing and doing the same.

I also stated that I have reviewed other FOX outlets like FOX business insider.

Not all FOX is bad. But anything coming from FOX And Friends, it's well within my right to ask for additional sources to support your claim. If you only have one article, I can tell you to pull more sources. It's bad argumentation/debate to only have one source.

The difference here is, I have multiple sources at my disposal, all primary source accounts of the incident; uncut body body can footage. There is hardly any reason to question the material here.

I don't even know what you were discussing and am not trying to discredit your argument in that, uh, argument...

My point is that your initial dismissal of FOX was pretty out of line when compared with what you were saying. That's all.
