I’m sorry that you feel ashamed but lots of people have different phobias that they are embarrassed of. Like Oprah, she’s afraid of gum that has already been chewed. Or Tom cruise who is afraid of balding. I am petrified of needles. Not like sewing needles (I’m actually an amazing seamstress) but like vaccine needles. I’m actually getting the COVID vaccine this Saturday. I swear I have beaten up like 3 doctors because of this. So don’t be ashamed and honestly what you’re scared of is pretty scary.

Almost everyone has one phobia that's a bit odd. I have a phobia of the dentist but I'm not in any harm anymore. It just stays with me. Its completely normal to be uncomfortable around something like that

No need to be embarrassed. A lot of our phobias had something to do with our past associated with a traumatic incident.
