politicsTOO is liberal-biased in its userbase, no doubt about it. The stream was essentially founded as a refuge for Imgflip liberals who found their experience with the main politics stream lacking. Anyone who's spent any time on politics knows our comments are frequently downvoted to oblivion (and always trolled) no matter how respectful and well-informed, and featured memes with a liberal viewpoint never make the front-page, and seldom even the front 5 pages. Because of that toxic and depressing environment, politicsTOO is a counter-weight where liberal viewpoints can be reliably seen and heard, and we can find each other and support each others' content without wading through the pile of crap that's often clogging "politics" when sorted by "New" (Minecraft, anyone?).
We're a tight-knit community and aim to serve the needs of our liberal members. However, I'm appreciative of the moderate-right-leaning folks who also like to come here and debate respectfully. Brave of you to set foot here, just as we liberals often set foot in a right-wing biased politics stream. And a couple of you are mods now - thanks for your help.
That's definitely a goal of our content moderation, to encourage more of that respectful exchange of ideas. Social media conspires to push us off into our mutual bunkers, but in order to continue to have a country, we need to remember how to see each other as Americans regardless of political views.
So to our moderate/center-right community members: if there are any ways you feel politicsTOO can improve your experience, feel free to hit me up here, or in memechat if you'd rather discuss privately.
