This notion is misleading because Trump continued to profit off of real estate he owns or manages, despite lawsuits arguing that this violates the Constitution's emoluments clauses. You probably dont understand that.

Trump is not the first president to donate his salary. Former Presidents John F. Kennedy and Herbert Hoover, both wealthy before they took office, donated all their earnings. You didnt know that neither, did you?

Golfing trips paid for by tax payers? Yes that sucks. But as a president, some leisure time is warranted. The government always overcharges tax payers for things, for example in my town they charged $8 thousand to put in two stop signs. But if you wasn't too talk about cost to tax payers, look at Obama Care. Btw, I've been paying taxes for 26 years now.

Now to my point of the OP, they are criticizing Republicans for "wasting" tax payer money. But they fail to see that most politicians do. Bad example on my part to use the donated salary bit.
