I'm floored that the NY Times would ever post anything even slightly negative about a Democrat. They probably have to do that from time to time just so they can claim to be unbiased.

Yes they did put something negative out about a Democrat, but to me they seemed to be trying to rationalize it or distract from it later in the article. Or maybe they were the first one's with the information and they thought getting it out asap would sell more papers.
