The political leaders of both sides don’t truly want peace — as the conflict gives them justification to increase their power
That said, there’s little doubt that Israel is the more powerful side and ought to be the first to make concessions
But outsiders should not be naive enough to think they can force peace on parties who do not want it themselves.
