A lot of it lately is bias due to Coronavirus. The media tells you this is largely white people attacking Asians, but reality does not align with that story.
I think deeper down a lot of the anger is because Asians, though a "minority," do not act collectively as if they are a perpetual victim class. They fly in the face of the "wypepo keep minorities down" mentality.
