Many great artists have tried and, inevitably, failed to capture the image of God. Whatever S/He is, it’s a being too vast to be grasped with the human senses alone.
That said, most depictions of God I’m familiar with depict him as this old bearded gent, typically white, though Morgan Freeman’s black God is another good one. :)
The gendered use of “He” in the Bible is a reflection of our limitation of language and our own pronouns rather than any accurate description. And I do think that exclusively depicting God as an old man sort of reinforces the patriarchy. I don’t have a true problem with it since it is traditional and there’s a lot of great artwork of Father God, but it’s good to question that and post female Gods sometimes. :)
