My interpretation of that verse, though I'm not a Christian much anymore, was the lost sheep was a sinner, similar to the Parable of the Prodigal Son, who had gone astray and went off to the world to follow the worldly ways. Thus, God (the father or shepherd) still loved the sinner/son and would do anything to get him back. So, since you seem to have a grudge against Trumps supporters, and think they are the worst of the sinners, now's your chance to love unconditionally :)
