When I was younger my friends and I would pop corn, gather round the tv and make a night of it just watching the Oscars. Those folks have really shot themselves in the proverbial foot with all the politics and general stupidity.
They are such a competitive bunch. They used to contend for the art, striving to rise above the fray. Now they compete for who can be stupidest, while the brightest among them are shunned. It's truly sad.
