Hi. Me again. I think you ought to know that alcoholism and drinking alcohol are 2 different things. But alcoholism hurts and kills those around it. The line between the 2 can be hard to tell if you are the one doing the drinking. Some people take alcohol as a refuge from reality instead of having faith and I think it’s wrong. It just really causes harm to the children as well especially when he would waste all of his money on alcohol. Thankfully my family was always there for her and her brother. Anyways don’t go down that path.

It’s makes you do dumb stuff though. Stuff that lasts throughout generations sometimes. Also being addicted to it, as JIMBOOO... said, is wrong. The mere act of drinking alcohol is not a sin, the consequences are often sinful though. Also it’s just common sense because if you need to be alert at all times, then alcohol ain’t gunna help that. It numbs you down. That’s my and my family’s perspective on it at least.

There are other religions that believe drinking alchohol, or even caffeine is sinful, but back in the day of Bible times wine didnt actually have as much alchohol as it does nowadays

But didnt Jesus turn water into a bunch of wine for people?? And they drank alot. I've been to sermons before at my church and my pastor has said stuff about wine being way less alcoholic back in Bible times.

Even God Himself is ordered in terms of headship and subordination (ex, Isaiah 48:16-17), and that Trinitarian headship He intended to be reflected in the family unit (1 Corinthians 11:1-2).

But in case one might think that the lower orders are inferior, by no means; for if God is the head of Christ then does that make Jesus inferior to the Father? No (Philippians 2:6). Therefore, just because the husband is the head does not mean that his wife is inferior to him.

And so with regard to pastoralship God intended man to lead; it was implied in creation (as man was first created, then the woman to be his helper - Genesis 2:18. 21-23), so it is in the church (1 Timothy 2:12-13). This unfortunately was further solidified when Eve sinned, which further barred her from leadership (1 Timothy 2:14).

you have provided good sourcing for the role of women in the family, however i fail to see how this pertains to the pastoral role in the church.

Because the context for 1 Timothy 2 is on the church as in verse 7-8 implies. Then after the two verses Paul began to talk about women how they ought to adorn themselves (vs. 9-10). Later, in verses 11 it he told Timothy that women ought to learn in silence which if you cross-reference 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 as CULO has cited, it matches.

The second half of 1 Corinthians 14 is exclusively on how Christians ought to conduct themselves in church with regard to spiritual gifts. For example, if anyone speaks in tongues, only up to three men is allowed to speak it while another interprets it (vs 27-28); it is the same with those who prophecy (vs. 29). And in that chapter is where vs. 34-35 comes in.

Welp. I guess I will just ignore this, but still using the Bible as a tool for sexism isn't okay. Just like how I can't slap anti-gay verses in a gay person's face, because that would make them hate us instead of finding Jesus.

I however do understand how biblical gender roles are what they are. But it's not like women preaching or leading is a sin or anything.

I've struggled with this issue for a very long time. And still do a little. But I take comfort that when the Lord returns, at least maybe the prohibition incurred by the sin of Eve is relaxed.

But the overall order I don't think, will ever go away.

That verse is not referring to just one church, but even if it was, I still have 1 Corinthians 14: 34-35.
