My church is changing our statement from being specific about things like whether Christ’s return will be Premillennial or not, to just saying that he will return. My family has noticed that they’ve been straying from teaching the Bible to just being general about everything. They changed their “slogan” of sorts to “being simply about Jesus” and that’s great and all but we’ve noticed that they’ve not been teaching from the Bible as much, and they’ve been weak on growth in faith. It seems like they just want to reel in more believers which is great and all but as a church we’ve been growing weak. We love the people there and my family has been going there longer than I’ve been alive but it’s not helping. Just pray for the leadership of my church as they go through what I hope is a phase.

Hi Whenyoukeepdeleting...

Unfortunately I'm not too knowledgable with different types of eschatology (even though I've already watched a number of videos already... it's hard for me to remember the details).

Here are the following videos that you can watch:

Amillenialism: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOt2SvO80HU

Postmillenialism (you may find this view the most strange of the three): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOt2SvO80HU

Premillenialism: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5UeOq4gZdE

Historic Premillenialism: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7N-Kq-YNE1k

It's sad to hear that your church is becoming that way. A good church can become a Seeker-Friendly church (when it is starving for new members or becoming pragmatic which the latter is bad enough already), but when it also shying away from doctrine and no longer preaching the gospel it is descending into apostasy.

I'll pray for your church leadership.

Thank you a lot. I will watch those videos later today. It’s just really stupid because they don’t seem to understand that the reason people are leaving the pews is because they don’t teach the Bible word for word, verse by verse. It almost seems like they want to become something great themselves, they changed their statement to say “we want to be the movement” and I think they are missing the point of how God and the Holy Spirit are the movement that encompasses his people. It’s just this whole thing...

You're welcome. It is really hard to see that happening with your home church that you're in for a long time.
