- And what, pray tell, was so wrong about the Alamo? There was a very long and contentious buildup to that particular episode of history, and the Mexicans were by no means innocent in the matter...you may be thinking of the Mexican-American War though, which was started by the warmonger President James Polk.
- "The South will rise again" Ha! You're an idiot if you think most conservatives think that. Heck pretty much all conservatives in the North, assuming their families were here back then, had family that fought for the Union.
- Slavery was horribly wrong, but it was also abolished in the late 19th century...if you want to dwell in the past then go right ahead, but the only way to fix a problem is to make changes going forward. I for one would rather focus on actual solutions to remaining issues regarding race in this country than continue to act like slavery somehow still exists in any functional sense (in this country, at least).
