fine. the vax passport will take care of them. the only place that will let them in is walmart and 711.

There's literally no reason to have one though...if you can transmit the disease while vaccinated, then the only reason to get one is to protect yourself. Just make it so that if you don't show proof of having a vaccine you have to wear a mask or something.

I would hate to be forced to inject anything into my body even if I knew it was benign. No reason to force others to do that.

then we need to "force" people to get the vax.

But why? The hallmark of democracy is that the minority was allowed to live largely how it wanted even if the majority makes decisions it dislikes. Spread TRUTH about the vaccine, show that it's safe and effective, but don't force people to get it...we don't force people to eat vegetables or exercise even though it's good for their health. This is one area where the, "My body, my choice." argument really does have a place.

if the minority is spreading a disease to the majority, they need to be contained. it's only a little prick from trump, they won't feel it.

But won't the majority be vaccinated (and thus immune)? If the vaccinated folks get COVID from the unvaccinated folks anyways, then what's the point of it in the first place?

Personally I feel that you should be able to get it if you want, because it's been irrefutably proven to both work and be safe (so far as we can tell, at least, which is good enough for me). However, if you don't, then just continue to wear your mask in public spaces, social distance, etc.

i don't think the majority will, so many young people (gen Y and Z) on both political sides think they don't need it - they make up the largest part of the high-contact population that doesn't isolate. then you have the Xers who are the smallest generation, who won't get it if they feel it's a hoax. most boomers will get it because they are at highest risk, but a smaller number won't for political solidarity reasons. i hope i'm wrong.

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/science/science-briefs/fully-vaccinated-people.html#:~:text=The%20risks%20of%20SARS%2D,spread%20it%20to%20others.

The CDC has long been telling us that you can transmit it anyways even if you're vaccinated...which isn't exactly shocking, it's basic science. If people don't want to risk getting sick then they should either vaccinate or let me know and I'll meet whatever risk threshold they feel is necessary, be it wearing a mask or avoiding them entirely.

This is not an unreasonable position...it's common sense. I won't go around the street screaming, "I'M NOT VACCINATED, YAAAAAAAAAAAAY!" and start coughing into your face or anything...

vax reduces chance of spreading significantly.

So here's my rebuttal; if they don't want it, and we know they've been informed of the pros and cons of getting it, then why do we get to make such an intimate medical decision for them? What happened to setting your own level of risk in life?

I think it's idiotic not to get vaccinated, and I've received just about every vaccine out there, but I'm holding off on the COVID vaccines just a little longer because I want to see how the data trends after one year of its usage. My prediction is that we'll confirm what we believe already; that it's 100% safe to use. However, I'm in excellent physical shape and utterly conscientious about being sanitary near others, so there is no real risk to me or others in waiting for a year. No one should have any right to make me do otherwise, just as I should not be able to force people to do something they don't want to do...

it's not about YOU getting the disease, it's about you SPREADING it and getting others sick. the vax doesn't completely eliminate spreading, but it reduces spread DRASTICALLY.
