Sorry for my late reply my new internet was being installed and it was not accessible for a couple of days. So gun violence, I myself am not in favor of banning assault weapons for the reason that historically banning problematic things hasn't really solved the issue. For example, when we banned alcohol it didn't stop the problems it was causing it just created organized crime. Your points on mental health and fatherless homes are valid and should be something we pursue. However, the matter still remains that in order to stop mass shootings we have to keep guns out of potentially harmful people's hands. I understand that obtaining a firearm is already very difficult but we need to have better background checks and permits to make sure that gun violence is reduced. So, in short, I think if we combine our ideas of reducing fatherless homes and background checks the mass shootings and gun violence, in general, would be reduced.
