Someone asked what truly violent means. To me that is being very brief and factual. If the graphic violence is filled with hyperbole? One is not going to think THAT is relevant.

Like someone oafs being Hanibal Lectur. One is not scared out of ones mind. Encountering an actual serial killer is implausible. One therefore knows the person must be absurdistly comical.

I guess it depends on who makes it and what relation you have with them. Of course, any inappropriate joke w/violence isn't good, especially since you added "truly" so in a way, depending on what it is, I'd just look at that person like, "dude, wtf?" ya know. I'm not exactly a sensitive person nor do I give a shit when someone offends someone by "addressing" them with wrong/right pronouns, not until someone actually gets hurt.

I think that is it. Someone you've known for ages will know you are not a crazy person. You don't have to say that you are not. That just makes things awkward and/or scary.
