The economic warfare is actually worse than pointless because it is harmful to US consumers and ultimately to the US economy.

I think that ship has probably sailed. It's why me have so much of our shit manufactured there. Their labor costs are just so much lower cuz their companies don't have to pay for healthcare and their employees don't have student loans and their housing costs are lower. I don't think they're really any more totalitarian than the US. People go to jail for jaywalking in the US and our jails and courts are just awful. I'd argue China is less authoritarian, but idk totalitarian basically means China won't let US companies bend it over a barrel. I kinda wish the US had approached Covid like China did. They didn't lose 500K people and they are a bigger, more densely populated country.
