you can add free chat back in if you just sign in on your account (switch users, you can just click "sign in" and it will sign in with your nintendo account)

it wont even let me sign in. Im on a mobile device, and you need google play games for an account on mobile, but when I try to download it, it says "this app needs to be updated before you can install it". So I'm stuck with the stupid auto-generated name and no normal chat.

you dont need to be 13 to use quick chat just sign in, go to settings, data, and change quick chat only to free or quick chat. i'm pretty sure you can do that even if you're a kid.
