Bill Barr signed off on the investigation and multiple updates on the investigation. Not at all... Matt Gaetz actions are showing he was guilty. Why else would he not only beg for a pardon from Trump after Bill Barr.. Trumps own AG is the one who launched the investigation into Matt Gaetz and even signed off on the continuance of the investigation into not only him but also Matt Gaetz's friends who are in jail awaiting trial on the same charges. So if you want to blame someone for Matt Gaetz being investigated. You can only blame Trump and his AG Bill Barr.. they are the ones who did the whole investigation. It just wasn't finished before Trump was out of office and now the Biden DOJ has to finish where Bill Barr left off...
